Story Hour Questions
What is Story Hour anyway?
Story Hour is simply a fun way for your child to become familiar with the library and to experience the world of

books.
Who can come to Story Hour?
Story Hour is designed for 3, 4, & 5 year olds. Songs, stories, crafts and finger plays are geared toward those age levels.
What exactly do you do in Story Hour?
We sing songs, read stories, maybe watch a short cartoon, and do a craft. We might even have puppets, flannel graphs, games or snacks depending on the book for the day and how much time we have.
Do I need to stay with my child during Story Hour?
Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay during Story Hour. You may also go upstairs to check out books or read. Sandy does asked that parents or caregivers remain at the library while your child is in Story Hour.
How long does Story Hour last?
The entire Story Hour year runs from September through the end of April. Individual sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. every Friday and last about 45 minutes to an hour.
Is Story Hour ever cancelled?
Yes, there are times that Sandy is out of town for a conference, but she tries to include that on the calendar so you will have plenty of notice. During the winter months, Story Hour is cancelled if Pendleton County Schools are cancelled due to bad weather. If you are ever in doubt, please call the library.

What about Story Hour parties?
We have four parties during the year: Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter. The library provides plates, cups, napkins, drinks and some snacks for these parties. Additional donations of snacks or treats for the kids are always welcome.
If you have any questions about Story Hour, feel free to call Sandy Florence at 654-8535.
